Ruth Sanderson’s career as a professional illustrator spans over 40 years. In addition to creating art for fantasy book covers and magazines, greeting cards, puzzles and collector’s plates, Ruth has illustrated over 80 books for children, including many award-winning fairytale picture books. She has exhibited at many Worldcons and World Fantasy cons and has been artist GOH at numerous conventions. She just won the 2018 Chesley award for best monochrome unpublished illustration for her “Dragon Drum” scratchboard piece. Among Ruth’s current projects is her first novel, A Dwarf’s Tale, a YA retelling of Snow White and The Seven Dwarves.
Ruth is the co-director of the MFA in Children’s Book Writing and Illustrating offered during summer terms at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. She lives the rest of the year with her family (plus three cats and one horse) in Massachusetts. Her website is ruthsanderson.com
