*Peter Davison will be signing autographs in the dealer’s room throughout the weekend*
Peter Davison played the 5th Doctor from 1981-84. He started his TV career playing ‘Elmer’ in ‘The Tomorrow People’ , a performance which has led him to profoundly regret the invention of videotape. A couple of sitcoms later he played Tristan in ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ followed by 3 seasons of ‘Doctor Who?’. In 1984 he turned his back on the Doctor after suddenly and frighteningly turning into Colin Baker. Instead he spent the next few years making a number of successful series including another 4 seasons of All Creatures, also ‘A Very Peculiar Practice’, ‘Campion’, ‘Harnessing Peacocks’, ‘At Home with the Braithwaites’, ‘The Last Detective’, ‘Fear, Stress and Anger’, and ‘Law and Order UK’ . He is also fondly remembered for ‘The Dish of the Day’ in The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy although he has no memory of it himself.
In 2007 he became the conduit that connects the ‘Classic’ Doctors and the present series when he appeared in ‘Timecrash’ with the 10th Doctor, played by David Tennant. Initially reluctant to reprise his role, Peter only agreed on condition that Tennant married his daughter Georgia and began a dynasty that would guarantee a succession of ‘Doctors’ until the end of time.
Peter’s only brush with US TV came in 1985 when he appeared in the opening 2 episodes of season six of Magnum P I.
Peter would like to apologise for not being Sylvester McCoy and for not having seen the “The Hobbit’, but he has a very short attention span and seriously ..three hours? However he intends to read the first 68 pages of the book on the flight over and so will be happy to answer any questions.
