Elektra Hammond has worked in the back end of publishing as a copyeditor and proofreader since the late-90s, working in fiction and non-fiction for both large and small press. Currently, she continues to freelance, is a fiction editor for buzzymag.com, and is acquisitions editor for Sparkito Press, an imprint of Dark Quest Books. She is also the official book reviewer for the TICA Trend, the magazine of The International Cat Association, reviewing cat-related non-fiction and fiction (in all genres). In between, she tries to write.

Her first published story, “The Case of the Duchess’s Dog,” appears in the anthology In An Iron Cage: The Magic of Steampunk.

Elektra relocated to Delaware in July of 2009 after twenty-plus years in the beautiful fingerlakes region of New York State. She lives with her husband, Mike, and the twenty-odd cats of BlueBlaze cattery. When she’s not freelancing, she travels the world judging cat shows.
