Gaming

The Gaming Foyer is open 24-hours. You can stop by and play a pick-up game when you have some free time. Convention staff can provide you with a board game from our in-house supply. Currently available are Munchkin, Infinite City, Killer Bunnies, Zombies!!!, Illuminati, Carcassone, NCIS the Board Game, Kinderbunnies, Axis & Allies, Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, SPANC, and Killer Bunnies and the Journey to Jupiter , with more to come.

Due to limited seats, sign-up sheets are posted in the main Gaming Foyer to register for specific scheduled gaming sessions. Registered players must be prompt. If they are more than 10 minutes late for a start time they will be replaced with an alternate if the session was full. Sorry, but our referees have to stay on a schedule too!

Please check out our Gaming Schedule.

Role Playing Games

Game authors like Christina Stiles and John Watts are running sessions using their material. Currently sessions are scheduled for Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, GURPS, Rogue Mage, Traveller, Big Eyes Small Mouth, and Misspent Youth. Additional sessions will be added as scheduling becomes final.

Tabletop Games

We are hosting a Beta Test for War Among the Stars, a strategy game of futuristic civil war. Game designer Charles Mathney will personally teach you his game. This is the first public play test of the game, and your feedback will be requested! Timeslots have been scheduled for several classic boardgames, as well as some newcomers. Carcassone, Munchkin, Killer Bunnies, Illuminati and Infinite City are scheduled. Zombies!!! will appear after dark, of course.

Live Action Role Playing

We are pleased to welcome back the two ever-popular LARPS as they continue their stories….

Super Hero Live Action Role Playing (SHLARP), brought to you by the Three Horsemen of the SHLARPocalypse (David Lystlund, Bob Flack and Rod Belcher), will continue the saga from last year’s convention. New players are welcome as there are new superheroes born/mutated/altered every day. If interested, you can get more details from the description of this year’s SHLARP.

Strange Aeons Live Action Role Playing Game presents a LARP for Vampires, Humans and more. This LARP is designed for Vampire veterans as well as rookies interested in a dark, spooky, and rather exciting weekend. Need to know more? Then check out the description of this year’s Strange Aeons LARP.

Video Gaming Room

We have a special room that is just for video gamers. It has computers, video gaming consoles and a library of games you won’t believe. Even better, you can touch them – actually play those old games like Mario Bros 3, Eco the Dolphin and Sonic. Starting with the XBox 360 and PS3 we work backwards through the generations to classics like the Sega Dreamcast and Genesis, Nintendo 64 and SNES, and the PS2 and PSOne. But before those came the Atari 2600… and hundreds of block graphic games. Stop by and try Adventure or Yar’s Revenge on the Atari!

Gaming Panels

You can meet our gaming guests throughout the weekend by attending panel discussions. Panels like Designing Games, Gaming and Fiction Crossovers, Building Strange New Worlds, and How to Run a LARP will let you interact with published and practiced game designers.

Special Events

We also hold special tournaments and sanctioned games throughout the weekend.
